I love this time of year, because it gives me a time to slow down and give Thanks for the things that I have in my life.
This year, I have so much to be thankful for, and most of the time, I don't stop to remember them, because I'm caught up in the craziness that my life has become.
I'm thankful for so much, but the biggest are my family and friends. I have a wonderful, loving family, both immediate and extended. And while we don't get to see each other as much as we used to, and we don't talk that frequently either, I love them all so much.
I have a terrific sister, who is truly my other half. I can't imagine life without her, and I'm thankful for her support and encouragement, for her inspiration, guidance and understanding. I'm also thankful that she lives closer now and I get to see her more often. :) I'm glad that we can share this crazy knitting habit, along with the rest of our lives.
I have a wonderful husband for whom I'm thankful, too. I'm thankful for his love and understanding, his patience with my crazy ideas, and for what a wonderful father he is. We definitely don't stop enough and tell each other that we're thankful for one another. This has been a tough year - as you might imagine - with getting used to our bigger family. My pediatrician told me a few times during the first month of H's life, that this would be the hardest year of my life. I agreed with her in spirit, but in looking back,I don't think I really appreciated how difficult it would be. I think we survived, mostly in tact, and I'm thankful for that too.
And, I'm thankful for my little H.
His smiles and laughter make my day. I've been so lucky to watch him grow over the past year.
I hope everyone else has a great Thanksgiving. Remember to stop and be thankful for all the joys in your life, too.
