knitted containers

I've bought a few knitting books lately - One Skein by Leigh Radford, and Mason Dixon Knitting from Ann and Kay.  I love them both, and they are similar in some ways. All of the projects are simple and beautiful. The funny thing, though, is that I've been thinking for over a year that I want to make some knitted and felted containers for around the house - baskets of sorts and in various sizes to keep things in.  And low and behold, there is a pattern in each book for knitted containers - bowls in One Skein and square ones in Mason Dixon Knitting.  I think these will be a nice project coming up, and I'm excited to get started on some.

And the library grows

I've started a meager knitting library. A few weeks ago I bought Amy's new book Knit Wit. It has some neat patterns and I love the way it stands up by itself.

And yesterday, I bought Stitch 'n Bitch Nation. I love all the tips from knitters from around the world.  And there are a bunch of great patterns, too.

Haven't been knitting too much. I'm not quite sure why, but I think I'm gonna go knit right now...
